A fantastic opportunity to step into a broad Assistant Accountant position at Darrell Lea. About the role
You’ll work closely with our Financial Controller and Commercial Accountant to support our wider Finance Team providing high quality financial ledger maintenance all while providing outstanding service and results. Key Responsibilities
Performing monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, making corrections where appropriate
Update and maintain financial records, including maintenance of the general ledger, banking transactions and posting journals
Review and authorisation of batch payments
Work with the finance team in support of the year end audit
General administrative duties as required by senior staff
Supporting Financial Controller, Commercial Accountant and finance team generally, collaborating with the team to work on various accounting projects
Monthly P&L check and reconciliation to underlying general ledger
Assist in the preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other statutory filings
Reconciliation of intercompany ledgers
The successful applicant requires:
Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
Well-organised with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet/exceed team deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
A proactive team player with a mindset for continuous improvement
CA/CPA qualification, or commenced
1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
Ability to work in an environment that is “hands on”
