About the Role

The Accounts Receivable role is responsible for managing a diverse, high-volume accounts receivable function across Hanleys' broad customer base. Reporting to the Admin Manager/Director, this role plays a key part in supporting the financial health of the business.

You'll work closely with Accounts Payable and Admin Support staff, and liaise regularly with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and Warehouse teams as needed.

We’re a family business, and the right fit matters as much to us as the right experience. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and brings a professional but approachable manner - the kind of person our team enjoys working with and our customers trust.

Pay rate will be negotiated, commensurate with experience.

Hours & Flexibility

This is a permanent part-time role of approximately 25–28 hours per week. We're flexible on how those days and hours are structured – start and finish times can be arranged to suit your lifestyle. The ideal candidate would be able to provide coverage across 4 or 5 days of the working week.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily receipting of payments to debtor accounts and reconciling merchant facilities (NAB, eWAY)

• Issuing, processing, and assessing customer credit applications

• Creating new customer accounts and informing new customers of communication of sales channels

• Maintaining and updating customer account details

• Following up overdue accounts and managing collections professionally

• Producing monthly statements

• Managing end-of-month accounts receivable processes including monthly statement run

• Responding to internal and external account enquiries

• Processing customer credits

• Supporting accurate record-keeping and compliance across accounts

• Within the Hanleys team, we promote cross-training of essential duties such as answering phones, and directing customer’s phone and reception queries

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an Accounts Receivable role

• Confident communication skills and a professional approach to collections, ensuring confidentiality of accounts and business information

• Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities

• Comfortable working collaboratively within an admin and cross-functional team

• Experience with ERP/Accounting software, such as MYOB etc. – Hanleys has a specialty program for which you will receive on-the-job training

• Problem-solving ability across customer accounts, debt collection, and credits

Desirable:

• Accounting qualification or Diploma of Bookkeeping

Remuneration & Benefits

• Competitive salary (pro-rata), plus superannuation

• Stable role within a long-established, family-owned business

• Supportive team environment where culture and fit genuinely matter

• On-site amenities including car parking and kitchen facilities
