CopperString is a nationally significant transmission infrastructure project supporting Queensland’s energy transition, connecting renewable resources and enabling long-term regional economic growth.

This is a unique opportunity to join a major State-backed infrastructure program and establish the financial foundations of a complex, large-scale project at a critical stage of development.

The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer will establish and lead the finance and commercial function within a greenfield environment.

The role will be responsible for financial governance, capital strategy and commercial oversight across the project lifecycle, supporting development, funding readiness and long-term operational success.

Key focus areas

·       Establish the finance and commercial operating model, systems and controls

·       Lead financial planning, reporting and governance frameworks

·       Support capital strategy, funding and financial readiness

·       Provide commercial oversight across procurement and major contracts

·       Manage treasury, financial risk and assurance capability

·       Support executive and Board decision-making through high-quality financial insight

About You
You are an experienced CFO or senior finance executive with a track record operating in complex infrastructure, energy or regulated environments.

You will bring:

·       Experience leading finance functions in large-scale or complex project environments

·       Strong capability across financial strategy, funding and commercial performance

·       Experience engaging with Boards, Government and key stakeholders

·       Ability to operate in a greenfield or evolving organisational environment

·       Experience within a GOC or similar public-sector context will be highly regarded
