About Us

Michael Weinig Australia Pty Ltd is part of the globally recognised WEINIG Group and is a leading supplier of machinery and technology solutions to the timber and woodworking industry across Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to join our leadership team and oversee all financial operations of the business.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this hands-on position is responsible for the company's financial management, reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. The role will work closely with all departments to support business performance, improve processes, and contribute to the continued growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.

• Ensure compliance with all taxation and statutory requirements, including GST, PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax, and Corporate Income Tax.

• Oversee payroll processing and support HR-related activities.

• Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support business decisions.

• Manage inventory reporting and stock valuation processes.

• Coordinate external audits and maintain strong internal controls.

• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

About You

•  To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

• CPA or CA qualification (preferred).

• At least 5 years' experience in a senior finance or financial management role.

• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation legislation.

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

• Experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, or distribution businesses will be highly regarded.

• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
